The superhero Beepster demonstrated alternative learning methods at the “Safet-beg Basagic” elementary school

After learning that the Energy Efficiency Project for Bosnia and Herzegovina (BEEP) continued with education for the youngest, the superhero Beepster arrived on our Planet. This superhero has one mission, which is to raise awareness of energy-efficient behaviour.

In his super suit with his super-fun and super-educational equipment, he visited the “Safet-beg Bašagić” elementary school in Breza, where he talked with the sixth graders about the importance of preserving energy and nature. He presented them with Beepomat – an interactive educational device that simply illustrates the consequences of inefficient behaviour on our environment, i.e. shows how the irrational use of energy from fossil fuels leads to global warming.

On this occasion, Beepster checked what comes to mind of the younger generations when the topic of energy efficiency is mentioned, i.e. whether they encounter it enough at all, and the students listened carefully to Beepster, who combined in a fun way learning and technology into one useful lecture.

“Beepster visited us today to teach us to use electricity as little as possible. I will adopt the advice from the workshop; for example, when I leave the house, I will turn off the light, TV and charger. I will also pass on the messages from the workshop to all my friends and family,” said Nedžla Mamela, a student of the elementary school “Safet-beg Bašagić”.

In the elementary school “Safvet-beg Bašagić” in Breza, the BEEP AF project implemented energy efficiency measures such as thermal insulation of facade walls; thermal insulation of the ceiling; replacement of existing carpentry and/or locksmithing; installation of equipment for measuring energy consumption; installation of temperature and humidity monitoring equipment. The area covered by the project is 2,260 m2, and the amount of the investment is 496,273.14 BAM.

The Beepster, visibly in a good mood and happy because the students have adopted new knowledge, has already arranged visits to other elementary schools tomorrow.

The superhero Beepster visits the elementary school “Vares”

The superhero Beepster, with the aim of educating the youngest about the importance of energy efficiency, began his tour of Bosnian elementary schools. The first educational workshop was held at the “Vares” elementary school in Vareš to the delight of all its students. After learning that the Energy Efficiency Project for Bosnia and Herzegovina (BEEP) continued with education for the youngest, Beepster decided to talk to the children personally and bring this topic closer to them in his own way.

He presented the students of the sixth grade with Beepomat – an interactive educational device that simply illustrates the consequences of inefficient behaviour on our environment, that is, it shows how the irrational use of energy from fossil fuels leads to global warming.

“The desire to learn new things should be instilled in children because learning is naturally innate in humans and ultimately we are happy when we learn something new or master a new skill. I believe that children today learned what small steps they can take to protect the environment on our planet,” said the superhero Beepster.

There was also talk about the importance of turning off electronic devices after use, and Beepster demonstrated this to the students by using a special camera with the help of which the youngest could “see” what the device looks like while it is using energy, and how to compare it with the one that was turned off.

An animated film, Beepomat and a special camera were just some of the tools used by this superhero, and this approach played a key role in keeping the students’ attention and creating a pleasant atmosphere that resulted in interesting questions from the students.

Energy efficiency measures were implemented in Vareš elementary school through the BEEP AF project: such as thermal insulation of facade walls, and ceilings, installation of equipment for measuring energy consumption, etc. The area covered by the project is 2,849 m2, and the investment amount was 290,515.60 BAM.
