The superhero Beepster, with the aim of educating the youngest about the importance of energy efficiency, began his tour of Bosnian elementary schools. The first educational workshop was held at the “Vares” elementary school in Vareš to the delight of all its students. After learning that the Energy Efficiency Project for Bosnia and Herzegovina (BEEP) continued with education for the youngest, Beepster decided to talk to the children personally and bring this topic closer to them in his own way.
He presented the students of the sixth grade with Beepomat – an interactive educational device that simply illustrates the consequences of inefficient behaviour on our environment, that is, it shows how the irrational use of energy from fossil fuels leads to global warming.
“The desire to learn new things should be instilled in children because learning is naturally innate in humans and ultimately we are happy when we learn something new or master a new skill. I believe that children today learned what small steps they can take to protect the environment on our planet,” said the superhero Beepster.

There was also talk about the importance of turning off electronic devices after use, and Beepster demonstrated this to the students by using a special camera with the help of which the youngest could “see” what the device looks like while it is using energy, and how to compare it with the one that was turned off.
An animated film, Beepomat and a special camera were just some of the tools used by this superhero, and this approach played a key role in keeping the students’ attention and creating a pleasant atmosphere that resulted in interesting questions from the students.
Energy efficiency measures were implemented in Vareš elementary school through the BEEP AF project: such as thermal insulation of facade walls, and ceilings, installation of equipment for measuring energy consumption, etc. The area covered by the project is 2,849 m2, and the investment amount was 290,515.60 BAM.
