Students were excited by BEEPomania

2The BEEP project – (Bosnia Energy Efficiency Project) has many goals, from developing public awareness of the importance of energy efficiency to conserving energy and environmental protection. But one of the most important goals is informing students about the energy efficiency importance. That is how the online game “BEEPomania” was created. Its goal was to educate young people about the sustainable future of energy.

In BEEPomania, participants explored all the possibilities and the advantages of the efficient use of energy in their own homes and created an energy efficient virtual home. More than 8.000 students from the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina participate and they had the opportunity to win excellent prizes.

The most points and the main prizes were won by two participants from Sarajevo, and fifteen participants from Tešanj, Mostar, Zenica, Kakanj, and Sarajevo won surprise awards.

The story about the efficient energy management education doesn’t end with BEEPomania. In the coming period, as a part of the project, a superhero called Beepster, will visit several elementary schools in order to convey an important message about the planet Earth to students.

Students were excited by BEEPomanija, and this is confirmed by compliments and numerous positive comments.

“The game is really interesting. I had the greatest fun while playing the memory game, which helped me and was very useful in learning new advices. I also liked the advice on the use of the energy-saving light bulbs. I immediately changed my old ones in my home with the help of my parents.”, said Hana Isić, a participant from Mostar.

“The game is awesome, and I really had much fun. I would like to make my own energy efficient home someday, just like the one in the game, especially the solar panels, because the solar energy is important.”, told Fatima Huseinspahić from Zenica.

Main awards were won by Anel Mandal and Ajdin Garibović from Sarajevo. Surprise awards were won by: Iman Kantić from Tešanj, Sidik Ahmetspahić and Fatima Huseinspahić from Zenica, Amina Husnić, Haris Kukrica, Admir Husković, Adna Husković, Hana Isić, Samra Mesihović, Edis Maksumić from Mostar, Muhamed Čehajić and Nermin Arnaut from Kakanj and Rabija Tahić from Sarajevo.
