Beep Project educates youth about energy efficiency benefits

As part of the biggest Bosnia Energy Efficiency Project – BEEP in five primary schools in Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina workshops were organized about energy efficiency. Goal of workshops was to introduce children to smart usage of energy, which they have to accept and use in everyday life, in their homes or schools.

More of 250 pupils watched animated movie about causes and effects of climate changes on Earth: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7FhlhEDqtso. After film screening, children met its main character Beepster.

”Your Planet is suffering” –Beepster warned pupils, and invited them to became little heroes and with their energy efficient behaviour save Planet Earth.  Beepster also gave them some advices: “Don’t leave running water, use compact fluorescent lamp, plant a tree.” He addressed his messages to more than 250 pupils from Primary School in Mostar, Primary school “Crnići” from Stolac, Primary School “Hašim Spahić” from Ilijaš, Primary School “Hamdija Kreševljaković” from Kakanj and Primary School “Musa Ćazim Ćatić” from Zenica.

Beepster also introduced children to energy efficient behaviour with help of his unique machine “Beepomat”, which illustrates how irrational usage of energy from fossil fuels leads to global warming. But surprises for children kept coming. Termovisional camera that shows how much energy consumes even when electrical appliances are on stand by mode.

This faze of project Beep reflects strong need to different energy saving mechanisms which starts on individual level. Beepsters message was not addressed only to children. It is truth which each individual should carry on for the future generations. Each individual who considers about future, with his responsible behaviour can become hero, and secure sustainable and ecology oriented development of Planet Earth.

Beepster’s advice: You can change the world

Together with Beepster, students saw an animated movie on causes and consequences of climate change and gained practical advice on how they, themselves can become heroes which will change the world thus saving the planet Earth.

“You planet, your only home is in grave danger.“ – said Beepster to surprised students. Energy is spent every time someone leave the lights on during the day or leaves their charger plugged in without charging their phone, tablet or other device. In order to produce that energy, a large amount of carbon dioxide, which directly affects climate change, had to be create somewhere.

Beepomat, device that teaches smart use of energy, was also presented during the workshop, together with a thermo-imagining camera which shows how much energy is spent when a device is left in a stand-by mode.

Besides primary school “Musa Cazim Catic“ in Zenica, Beepster has also visited primary school “Crnici“ in Stolac, “Hamdija Kresevljakovic“ in Kakanj, ”Fourth Primary school” in Mostar and “Hasim Spahic“ in Sarajevo.

Our only home, planet Earth is facing the dangers of massive climate changes. Deforestation, construction of factories, petrol and diesel fueled cars, consumption of energy has turned planet Earth’s big friend carbon dioxide (CO2) into her biggest foe. Excessive burning of fossil fuels, in order to get energy, releases surplus of carbon dioxide (CO2) which leads to global warming.

“You do not want floods, droughts and world without forests.“ – exclaimed Beepster, sharing his advices for smarter use of energy. Beepster added, “Do not leave the water running. Use energy saving bulbs, plant a tree. With your actions you can become heroes and change the world.“

Beepster introduced a thermo-imaging camera, which shows how much energy is lost when a device is left in a stand-by mode. Students were also enthusiastic with the Beepomat, a device that teaches energy efficient behaviour. They showed great deal of interest in animated movie dedicated to consequences of the climate changes on Earth.

Super hero Beepster visited the «Hašim Spahić» primary school in Ilijaš, in order to teach the students how to be energy efficient at home and at school.

Planet Earth is in a great danger, because it is warming rapidly. By cutting forests, building plants, by using petrol and diesel vehicles, Earth’s great friend, carbon dioxide, becomes its greatest enemy. Numerous human activities and excessive use of fossil fuels release too much carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, which leads to the global warming.

Because of that Beepster visited the students and told them that Earth is in a great danger. “Turn off lights, computers, television, and other equipment which uses energy when not used. Let the sun in your homes. Instead of using a car, take a walk or ride a bike. Be energy efficient, and help the only home you have, the planet Earth.” – the super hero said to the students.

He introduced to them the Beepomat, a device which teaches them smart energy use, as well as to the thermal imager, which shows how much energy is lost when a device is on a standby mode. The students also watched an animated film about the climate change and learned advices with which they can change the world.

Beespter continues his “green journey” in primary schools: ”Musa Ćazim Ćatić”, in Zenica and ”Hamdija Kreševljaković”, in Kakanj.

Numerous students of the fifth grade primary school “Crnici“ in Stolac, were surprised with the visit of superhero Beepster who came to convey a very important message about the planet Earth.

“Your planet is suffering!“ – exclaimed Beepster and rallied the students, mini heroes, to save it from global warming, which has a considerable impact on the future of the Earth and its inhabitants.

Carbon dioxide (CO2) enables the atmosphere to retain a part of solar radiation and heat thus preventing the cooling of the Earth and radiation of heat into the space. Due to excessive use of fossil fuels, by which we gain energy, significant amounts of carbon dioxide are released which leads to global warming. Increased temperatures cause natural disasters, such as droughts and floods, contribute to melting of the glaciers which in turn raises the level of seas and oceans, forces forests to retreat to higher altitudes and similar.

Beepomat, device which teaches energy efficient behaviour, was of particular interest to students. Beepster also introduced them to a super thermal imagining camera, that shows how much energy is lost when devices are left in a stand-by mode. Students were also shown an animated movie on climate changes on Earth and smart use of energy.

Beepster will also visit primary schools “Hasim Spahic“ in Sarajevo, “Musa Cazim Catic“ in Zenica as well as the primary school “Hamdija Kresevljakovic“ in Kakanj.

Superhero Beepster visits Mostar

He explained to students, in an engaging way, that burning of fossil fuels does produce energy but that it also produces carbon dioxide (CO2) gas.

Superhero Beepster visited fifth grade students of the Fourth Primary school in Mostar in order to relay a very important message concerning the planet Earth.

He explained to students, in an engaging way, that burning of fossil fuels does produce energy but that it also produces carbon dioxide (CO2) gas. That gas enables the atmosphere to retain a part of the solar radiation and heat, thus preventing cooling of the Earth and radiation of heat into the space. At the same time, high consumption of fossil fuels everyday creates excessive amounts of this gas. This leads to global warming, which significantly affects the Earth’s climate.

During the workshop, Beepster also presented his Beepomat, device which teaches the students how to be energy efficient and helps them to become heroes that will save the planet Earth. But surprises did not end there! Beepster introduced a thermo-imaging camera, which shows how much energy is lost when a device is left in a stand-by mode.

This superhero also presented an animated movie to the students, that is dedicated to causes and consequences of climate changes on Earth.

Beepster will continue his trip in primary schools “Crnici“ in Stolac, “Musa Cazim Catic“ in Zenica, “Hamdija Kresevljakovic“ in Kakanj as well as “Hasim Spahic“ in Sarajevo.
