After learning that the Energy Efficiency Project for Bosnia and Herzegovina (BEEP) continued with education for the youngest, the superhero Beepster arrived on our planet. On this occasion, he visited the elementary school “1. Mart” in Jelah, and talked with the fifth graders about the importance of preserving energy and nature.
“Every time someone leaves a light on during the day or leaves a charger plugged in without charging their cell phone, tablet or other devices, energy is wasted. You can save the earth by being energy efficient,” Beepster advised them.
At Beepster’s workshop, students had the opportunity to watch an animated film about climate change. Also, the superhero Beepster presented the students with the Beepomat. This device illustrates in a simple way how the irrational use of energy from fossil fuels leads to global warming.

Thanks to the BEEP AF project, energy efficiency measures such as thermal insulation of facade walls have been implemented in the primary school “1. Mart” in Jelah; thermal insulation of the ceiling; replacement of existing carpentry and/or locksmithing; partial replacement of lighting fixtures; improvement of the central heating system, installation of pellet boilers; installation of dynamic thermostatic valves; replacement of asbestos cover, installation of equipment for measuring energy consumption; installation of temperature and humidity monitoring equipment. The area covered by the project is 1,919 m2, and the amount of the investment was 553,073.60 BAM.
After a lot of useful tips and information about the importance of energy efficiency and the consequences of global warming, socialising and having fun, Beepster gave the students calendars that will remind them that every day is an opportunity to help planet Earth.
